How the color hints work

• Gray: The letter is unavailable in the secret word.

To start, take a look at the puzzle and the featured adoptable pet.

1. Type in and submit your first guess. You can type any combination of letters as long as it sounds like the name of a pet.

• Tip: Try a common pet name, such as Jessie, Max, Charlie, Oliver, Lola, etc.

2 Learn the color feedback and refine your guesses. Rearrange known letters and test new ones to identify more yellow and green letters. Of course, you can experiment with totally new pet names without having to use yellow and green letters; however, be sure not to use ones in gray. Everything should depend on your strategy in Adoptle.

3. Continue making your guesses. Keep on finding the pet’s name until you find it, or the attempt runs out.
