What is Hangman?

Hangman is a classic word guessing game where the player has to guess one letter at a time to reveal hidden words. It's a fun way to improve your spelling, word recognition and vocabulary skills — with easy play and language-based thinking. Hangman is a simple game that can be played by anyone of any age on desktop and mobile browsers – it's a fun game to play both solo and in private rooms with friends.

How the Game Works

The word-guessing aspect is the same but with a twist of scoring, progression, and useful power-ups that make each game thrilling. At the beginning of each level, you'll be given a secret word and a topic that will give you a clue to the word. The blank spaces indicate the length of the word and just type letters from the letters on the screen.

The following rules apply as you play:

• Score points: Correct letters will earn 10 points each.
• Earn diamonds: Diamonds are awarded for completing a level (2 per level).
• Use hints wisely: Use diamonds to show a letter if you are stuck! Hints are also diamonds so you will have to make more diamonds before you can use another hint.
• Avoid mistakes: Each wrong guess will be a new piece to the stick figure—from the rope, head, body, arms, and legs. When we have made 7 mistakes, the round is passed.
• Solve themed words: Each puzzle is related to a theme, like animals, mythology, professions, verbs, school supplies, household items, kitchen tools, body parts, clothing.
• Progress through levels: Stages unlock upon success, so if you fail a level you go back and try again. This is a good incentive for steady and careful guesses, and unlocks additional stages.

The secret to getting more points and progressing through the game's more difficult stages is to combine smart letters and strategic use of hints.

Tips to Improve Your Hangman Skills

It is best to start with the vowels A, E, I, O, U. Once that, work on common letters like E, T, A, O, I, N, S, H, R, and L to make more of the puzzle!

When writing phrases, work on solving one word at a time rather than the whole phrase. Listen for the topic - it may give you important hints. Use uncommon letters J and Z sparingly, unless the pattern strongly suggests. When you're stuck, use hints strategically as they take away earned diamonds. As you practice, guess and make educated choices with your letters; your score will increase, and your vocabulary will grow with each game.
